Assignment #2 - Winter Blues...

I really did not think about how difficult it is to find good nature pictures when it is cold outside! I saw a squirrel at one point, but didn't catch it, and being that it is so cold I had a short attention span when trying to find things to take pictures of. Below are just some of the ones I did find. I guess I never really look around and take a good look at nature when it is below freezing and in the middle of winter. Surprisingly there were more things to take pictures of than I thought.

In this image I edited the shadows a little to try and bring the light out from behind the leaves. I also used vibrance just a little bit to bring out the color warmness. I also adjusted the levels just a little bit with bringing the darks up a little.

With this picture I did little adjustments. I edited the levels a little, but kept the shadow to be visible, and I also adjusted the brightness and contrast a little. I actually was pretty happy with how this picture turned out, and I did very little to adjust.

The sky was not the best when I took this picture, but I worked with it a little. I adjusted the Brightness/Contrast so the dark trees were a little brighter. I also messed with levels a little to bring the darks up. I also upped the Vibrance and messed with the Saturation to emphasize the color that is in the photo.

The first thing I edited was the levels... I lightened up the mid tones and dark spots. Then I brought down the light tones of the picture. I wanted to make sure the right corner didn't look like a black hole. Lastly I upped the saturation a bit to bring out more color and toned down the brightness of the photo.

For this last image I lowered the brights, and lessened the vibrance. I also upped the hue a bit. I wanted to keep the green leaves, and lose the excess shadows while still keeping the sunlight.
